Who We Are
Hidden Tower Media was formed by two brothers to work on projects in gaming and media; we are based in Los Angeles and the Bay Area and are currently focused on creating both physical and digital games. As lifelong gamers and fans of board games, card games, and digital games, we create games with a ‘by gamers, for gamers’ approach that’s based in engaging content, innovative game mechanics, comprehensive rulesets, and thorough playtesting. Additionally, we exclusively contract with independent artists to create our game artwork to help support the vibrant and highly talented community of independent digital artists.
What We Do
Game Development & Design
We develop & design board and card games from original ideas, carefully crafting all aspects of each game we create:
- Subject content & world building
- Rulesets & mechanics
- Asset frameworks & design
- Rulebook design & copywriting
- Artwork research & composition
- Player experience & replayability
We are currently working on several of our own titles, but are also available for partnership projects and development & design support. Have an idea for a game but don’t know where to start? Need support or bandwidth for a game in development? Drop us a line and let’s chat.
Playtesting & Workshopping
One of the most important aspects of creating a positive player experience is systematic and thorough playtesting of a game’s ruleset to close rule loopholes & exploits, remove rule ambiguity, craft clear rule language, and create fully complete ruleset. Using self-developed methodologies, we tear rulesets apart and creatively weave them back together to develop comprehensive rulesets that provide highly enjoyable player experiences. Using iterative workshopping, we build ruleset frameworks that incorporate concept continuity, reinforcing mechanics, and integrated balancing. Have a game in the final development stage but aren’t sure about playtesting? We’re your guys.
Media Projects & Publishing
With professional experience in graphics design, copywriting, creating advertising content, technical writing, video editing, and more, we are also available to work on a wide range of media and publishing projects. If you have a project you are looking to publish but don’t have the business entity (needed for access to platforms, tax purposes, etc.), the business expertise, or the desire to deal with all that, we are open to equitable publishing partnerships to help you get your game, media project, creative work, or other endeavor out into the world in a safe and legally protected manner. As independent creators ourselves, we are well aware of how tough it can be to share what you’ve created with the world, and how careful you have to be about doing so. If you’re looking for help with projects or publishing, give us a shout.

Conquest Three Kingdoms (or C3K), our first game, is a strategy & conquest game set during the Three Kingdoms Era in feudal China (184 AD – 280 AD). Originally designed & developed, C3K features all custom artwork, innovative game mechanics, dynamic gameplay, and a thoroughly tested ruleset to create a great player experience. With 4 game boards, 4 base game modes, mod-able victory conditions, optional quickplay setup, and a myriad of characters, game strategies, and player tactics, C3K provides virtually endless replayability for both competitive and cooperative gameplay.

A Game of Strategy
Conquest Three Kingdoms is a strategy game for 2 to 8 players where rival warlords, natural disasters, and economic uncertainties all stand in the way of your rise to become Emperor. You will need to fully utilize your unique skills as a Ruler, those of your Generals, and available Strategies to both press your advantage over your enemies and survive their onslaughts. Additionally, C3K features a Co-op mode where 1 to 4 players cooperatively battle against mechanical (i.e. bot) players for dominance over feudal China.
Set In A Time of War
The Han Dynasty lies in ruins and determined warlords have claimed provincial independence, amassed armies, and are on the march. You seek to promote your own claim to rule and must establish your dynasty by eliminating or subjugating your rivals. With skillful heroes and cunning tactics at your disposal, you must marshal armies and resources to expand your territory and power of rule.

Inspired by History
Conquest Three Kingdoms was inspired by the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guangzhong and the historical account Records of the Three Kingdoms by Chen Shou.
